During a winter storm I sat on the top of Mynydd Mawr sheltering in my Landrover waiting for the clouds to part so that the island would be bathed in sun. Eventually the moment arrived and I saw that some of the buildings and a cross were silhouetted. This was better than I could have hoped for and added drama to the scene. When I got back that night I learnt that the wind had gusted over 80mph in Aberdaron during the day. Thank God for tripods and Landrovers.
